Paul Mukran is living in Potsdam, a city in the vicinity of German capital Berlin. In his photographic work he cares to make see the unseen.
Currently, Paul Mukran is working on three longterm projects: Lignite coal mining in Lusatia, industries and trades in Potsdam City, and water supply in the Brandenburg region (Germany).
What you see at first glance might turn out to be something very different when you look closer into the matter, is what Paul Mukran has learned throughout his career in the legal business. In short, this experience also explains his approach to photography.
Certified in 2021 as a photo designer, Mukran is currently participating in a one year part-time program on storytelling at International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York (online program).
His preferred fields of work are documentary and non-fiction photography, one of them namely being environmental photography.
Other fields of Mukrans work range from photographing industrial sites and buildings, land- and cityscapes and architecture to street scenes.

Paul Mukran lebt nahe Berlin, in Brandenburgs Hauptstadt Potsdam. Sein fotografisches credo ist, sichtbar zu machen, was zunächst nicht offensichtlich ist.
Gegenwärtig arbeitet Paul Mukran an drei Langzeitprojekten: Braunkohletagebau in der Lausitz, Einzelhandel in Potsdam, und Wasserbevoratung in Brandenburg.
Mukran hat im Laufe seines Berufslebens im Rechtswesen gelernt, dass die Wahrnehmung des ersten Blicks sich bei näherem Hinschauen als etwas völlig Unterschiedliches herausstellen kann. Kurz gesagt, diese Erfahrung ist auch für seine fotografische Herangehensweise grundlegend.
Zertifiziert als Fotodesigner in 2021, nimmt Mukran zur Zeit an einem "One year Part-Time Programm" (online) am International Center for Photography (ICP) in New York zum Thema "Storytelling" teil.
Seine bevorzugten Arbeitsgebiete sind dokumentarische und "non-fiction" Fotografie, namentlich im Bereich Umweltfotografie.
Seine weiteren Arbeitsbereiche reichen von der Fotografie von Industrieanlagen und Gebäuden über Landschaften / Stadtlandschaften und Architektur bis zur "street photography".
